Inspirations

Hello guys. For this post I have decided to tell you from whom I get my inspiration. If you follow my instagram (@abrazilianabroad) you'll realise that I have post 2 pictures of people already. Adam Gallagher and Ryan Gosling. Well, I'll post them here again with a couple more of my fashion idols. Let's start!

I have decided to post here 6 men that I have considered to be my fashion inspiration.

The one that started it all was Ryan Gosling. Why? Well, I saw the movie "Crazy, Stupid, Love" (which I highly recommend because it has Steve Carell and Emma Stone in it). The movie plot is basically a mid 40's guy that is getting a divorce because his wife cheated on him, but not only that his sense of fashion is terrible, so Ryan Gosling (Jacob) starts helping Cal (Steve Carell) rediscover his masculinity and he does so changing the way he dresses and picks up on girls. Yes, it's an awesome movie! I saw this movie about 3 years ago (it was released in 2011) and I decided to start dressing better. Well, yea, movies can influence you for good.

Since then I have looked up to many different fashion icons to mimic their style or to have some inspiration and have my own spin on fashion. The next one that I started imitating was the already football icon, David Beckham. You can't go wrong following his style. Really, you can't. Maybe the half-tuck shirt, because that's something only he can pull off, but otherwise, you CANNOT go wrong. Just look him up, for real.

From there I started watching Zac Efron transformation into a man (thank goodness he left that horrible hair from High School Musical). Not much to say, just look him up on pinterest or any other website and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Justin Timberlake will always be one of my favourites. Especially after the 20-20 Experience album, where he is dressing really classy and sometimes dressing down but still looking classy, like the picture here.

Since I started putting pictures on my instagram about fashion, I searched for famous fashion bloggers around the globe, I found some menswear magazines and profiles, but nothing like these two that I'll mention here. They are famous for a reason, and a good reason. Most of my styles are based on these two guys. Adam Gallagher (www.iamgalla.com) and Mariano DiVaio (www.mdvstyle.com). Not much else to say except they're the best. Mariano is more famous than Adam but they are equally fashion icons for me. Go to their website, their instagram, I don't care, just take a look and start having some inspiration. If I, one day, get to be at their status I'm done with life. Really.

That's all guys, home you enjoyed this post and please comment or ask anything. See you around!

Feels like a pajama day.

Yep, I wore pajamas all day this day. But they were stylish pajamas nonetheless. Without further ado, here are the pictures.

Necklace and sweatshirt by H&M. Necklace is $12.95. Sweatshirt I got as a Christmas gift, so sorry I don't have a price.

Joggers by Carbon (found at Rue21), $20.

This outfit was one of my friends that asked me to do it. He found a picture online and sent it to me through Instagram and wanted to see if I could do the same. Still to this day I don't know if he was just making fun of me or if he was being serious. Oh well, it doesn't matter, the outfit is done and I like it.

Collarless White Shirt from H&M - $15.
Grey Super Slim Fit Suit by J.Ferrar (JCPenney) - $75.
Levi's 510 - $45.
Brown boots by Dr. Scholls (Burlington Coat Factory) - $40.
Watch by Fossil

This outfit is good for casual but still a little dressed up. The more dressed up top part is contrasted and balanced by the casual jeans and worn out boots. I really like this outfit and it got me a lot of compliments throughout the day.

Try it out and you'll see for yourself.

Pocket square you can find at any store and it's always around $4-$15 (the more expensive ones usually come with a bow tie or necktie)

Necklace over Shirt

What's up guys. This outfit was inspired by this picture I found on pinterest

Of course I couldn't pull it off as well as this guy, but I made my own version of this outfit. I replaced the hat with a beanie and of course the shirt. This is what I came up with:

This shirt is by Van Heusen and it was about $25. My jeans are H&M, black skinny fit. Necklace is also by H&M.

Bracelets bought from JackThreads, the buddha head one is by KingIce.

Boots are by Dr. Scholl's (bought @ Burlington Coat Factory), $40.

When I decided to dress this I was first skeptical about the necklace over the shirt with all the buttons buttoned, but it turned out to be a great attire. I have received many compliments on this outfit as far as I can remember (it's been a while that I took these photos). I have some fedoras but can't pull them off as good as I want to, so I decided to use a beanie instead and it worked just as good as a hat. This outfit will certainly get the attention of people because it's unusual to see someone dressing like this. Yes, you're a hipster if you dress like this, but be proud of it, set the trend don't follow it!

I have pin-rolled my jeans to make them look like that. To know how to pin-roll, just watch the video below.

I hope you guys liked this and gave you some inspiration on how to dress. Always stay tuned for more tips and outfits. Read you later!

Gingham All Blue

Hello these fellows, here we go again with a little inspiration for your outfit. This one I believe is more of a smart casual look for a night-out but you don't really want to wear a blazer, or it's just a little colder than usual.

Let's dig in.

Gingham shirt by J.Crew. I got this great shirt for Christmas, so I'm sorry I can't give you a precise price on that one, but you can look it up on their website.

Pants are from H&M, of course. They're skinny fit chinos. $35.

This duffle coat is by Aérospotale. I know, right? It's an amazing article of clothing that I own and the most incredible thing is that I only paid $10 on it. Yes, $10. I bought it back when I used to live in Boston, MA. I found them at the clearance part of the store and the only thing wrong with them is some holes in the pockets (which I hate using anyway so that doesn't bother me at all). Sold!

Being in college is not always that you see someone wearing a more formal attire like this one for classes. What I usually see is people wearing sweats and not caring for their appearance, but not me, I care and a lot, I always try to make a statement, always try to stand out among the crowd and it's not hard to do that. You can do that as well, just wear something that will help you stand out, like this outfit in a normal class day or just because you want to dress up a little it for the day. No specific reason, you can try different outfits every single day, see how it looks like and go for the ones that get complimented and not go for the ones you don't feel like they're good enough. I surely got a lot of compliments on this outfit by my classmates (which were all girls) like "dapper" or "stylish" or even "gentleman".

Try it out, see how you feel and let me know about it. If you need help with a accessory or what goes with what, comment and I'll be glad to answer. For now, read you later!

Kotovsk from EyeBuyDirect

To be short and simple, I always wanted round frames but was afraid that I'd look like Harry Potter, until I was looking for some glasses online and I came across EyeBuyDirect and found some really good deals and some frames that I liked.

Well, I bought these amazing frames and had them for over a year until I went to a rave and accidentally got hit in the face and my glasses were gone. But I loved those frames and couldn't believe I had lost them like that, so I went to EyeBuyDirect to try to find similar ones and what I found was much better than the ones I had before, I found the Kotovsk frame. Yes, they're amazing and I receive compliments on them on a daily basis.

So I decided to take some pictures bragging about my new babies, and of course promote my new favourite glasses store. So I came up with these pictures, always taken by the faithful Verónica.

Don't pay attention to my face but to the glasses! They are amazing looking and really well made. Lenses are perfect and cheap. If you see, it has details in brown (it looks like a leopard print but more masculine than that). Shipping took 2 weeks exactly and I wasn't disappointed.

I'm serious, if you want and/or need good eyeglasses or even prescription sunglasses (which I will be getting soon) go to this website and I promise you won't be disappointed. They are AMAZING.

Unfortunately these frames (Kotovsk) are out of stock for now, but they're coming shortly with a new collection that I bet will destroy.

Coming back from the ashes

Hello there people. I've been MIA since the end of March due end of semester and all the hell that comes with it, but I am back for good! Although I didn't post on the blog, I kept posting on my instagram (@abrazilianabroad) and now I'll post more often here so you guys can know where to shop for good deals and awesome clothes.

All my pictures were taken by my sister-in-law Verónica, she's an amazing photographer (she never did any kind of photography course before and she already knows how to do it. Anyway, she's doing a course now but too bad for that she's going back to Chile and then Buffalo NY).

To start off this series of posts, I go back to the end of March 2015 with this casual outfit. What I tried to do was to basically become a badass motorcycle dude, but I can't with my face. I had just tried to dye my hair (which went horribly wrong, but I later fixed it as you will see in later posts).

Here I have a "leather" jacket that I found at Rue21 for about $45 if I remember correctly. I know that this store is for most of the times pretty ghetto, but you can still find some good stuff if you dig for deals. I have found not only this jacket there but some joggers before they became a trend, or in the beginning of the trend.

I am wearing a H&M blue crew neck t-shirt ($10 max).

The headphones are just for contrast purposes between the dark and light tones. They're SONY for $29 at any store like TJMaxx, Ross or similar.

Of course I'm wearing one of my favourite jeans, black skinny fit denim from H&M ($35?). They are super comfortable and last a long time.

And I couldn't forget my constant companions from EyeBuyDirect. I receive compliments on them on a daily basis, and for the price of $50 with frames, lenses and shipping it couldn't get any better. Really.

I'm also wearing bracelets from JackThreads and my unbreakable Casio G-Shock 3031 Mudman.

I hope this post will inspire you in your daily outfits and help you find some sweet deals on common stores. If you have any comments or questions, please don't be afraid to ask. I'll be back with more.
